Safeguarding & Wellbeing

At Roots & Rhythm, safeguarding is at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to creating safe, supportive and nurturing environments where young people feel protected, respected, listened to and valued.

We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and are committed to promoting the wellbeing, safety and welfare of all children and young people accessing our provision.

Our approach to safeguarding is relational, trauma-informed and child-centred. We understand the importance of positive relationships, emotional safety and consistent support in helping young people feel secure and able to engage positively with others and the world around them.

Our safeguarding practice is informed by current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), while remaining rooted in relational, therapeutic and child-centred approaches.

We are committed to:

  • maintaining safe and supportive environments;

  • promoting emotional wellbeing and positive relationships;

  • listening to and respecting the voice of young people;

  • responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns;

  • working collaboratively with families, schools and external agencies;

  • and ensuring safeguarding practice remains effective, reflective and responsive.

We work collaboratively with schools, families and external agencies where appropriate to help safeguard and support young people effectively.

All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and responded to in line with our safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.

If you have a safeguarding concern relating to a child or young person attending Roots & Rhythm, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
